Yemen has been engulfed in an unprecedented war for years – and international attention is dwindling. This made it all the more important for me to travel to the country and support the emerging peace process. Together with the Delegation to the Arabian Peninsula, which I chair, I visited a girls’ school, a hospital and a development project. We met with civil servants and members of parliament, representatives of UN agencies and human rights activists.
