Creating peace by entering conflict: Either we work together, or we fail – this applies to family and work, as well as to politics and Europe. As a Member of the European Parliament, I fight for a common European foreign and defence policy that strengthens peace, security, and human rights worldwide through dialogue and cooperation.

As a peace researcher, I aim to empower those fighting for political freedoms. A key focus of my work is the Middle East, a region I know well through extensive research trips and years of experience. I am strongly committed to combating autocratic tendencies, right-wing extremism, and disinformation – around the world as well as in Europe and at home.

As a feminist, I stand for a transparent, inclusive, and empathetic style of politics. I envision a world where all people have equal rights and opportunities to shape their future. A society where everyone can feel at home. This is what I strive for – with policies that dismantle discrimination, empower women and minorities, protect political freedoms, address crises preventively, and seek to resolve conflicts together and peacefully. At the same time, I am committed to a Europe that is ready for military confrontation if others force it upon us.
