The war in Yemen at the moment is the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. 230,000 people have been killed in the conflict to date, due to both continued airstrikes and lack of food and health services.
But the EU can do something to stop the crisis: No more arms export and maintenance support to the warring parties! No company and no country should make money with the suffering of the people in Yemen.
This was our position as Greens/EFA for the Yemen resolution of the European Parliament, which was passed this week. Parliament adopted this demand! Below you can see my plenary speech on the issue:
