Citizen Lab has revealed that Member of the European Parliament Stelios Kouloglou was repeatedly infected with Pegasus while serving on the inquiry committee investigating the misuse of spyware. This means that the target was not merely an individual MEP. The parliamentary investigation itself came under attack.
The abuse of spyware is a threat to our democracy and security in Europe. Two years after the final report of the Pegasus Inquiry Committee (PEGA), this threat is still not being taken seriously.
