Politicians are people. People are allowed to have fun. And this includes dancing exuberantly! After a video of Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin became public where you can see her doing just that, many people showed solidarity with her – including me, of course.

Many media outlets picked up on my tweet on the topic, showing me dancing with Annalena Baerbock (now German Foreign Minister), Franziska Brantner (now Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action) and Luise Amtsberg (now Federal Government Commissioner for Human Rights Policy and Humanitarian Assistance) at the 2018 Party conference of the German Green Party. Among others, FAZ, ZEIT, Frankfurter Rundschau and Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland covered the story (all articles in German).

I, for one, hope that similar videos will not cause such a scandal in the future. Rock on, Sanna!
