The biggest enemy sits in the smartphone – and as a user you know nothing about it. This is Pegasus: a whole industry gone rogue in a deadly alliance with the worst dictators of this world. Through Pegasus, human rights defenders, EU citizens and even Members of the European Parliament can be deliberately targeted. This makes human rights work impossible. We therefore now need a global ban on the export of any kind of spyware and we need to ask other governments, including those in Israel and Saudi Arabia, some tough questions.
