Josep Borrell: Stop stabilising the Iranian regime!

A year ago, the death of Jina Mahsa Amini triggered a new wave of protests in Iran. Since then, the people in the country have defied the regime, which is brutally cracking down on any opposition.

In my plenary speech, I called on Foreign Affairs Commissioner Josep Borrell: Stop stabilizing this regime while the people of Iran are ready to die for its overthrow!

The EU's Iran policy of the last 44 years has failed. Therefore, a new approach is needed.
