The EU has created many good plans and strategies when it comes to gender equality and women’s rights in its foreign and security policy. Yet the reality lags behind. In my speech in the AFET (Foreign Affairs) Committee I presented the AFET draft opinion on the report on “Gender Equality in the EU’s foreign and security policy” and called for
▶️ Mandatory representation of women (yes – quotas!)
▶️ Financial resources for projects that push women and other minorities ahead
▶️ Mandatory gender trainings for everybody who wants to move up in hierarchy
