Europe and Ukraine: Stronger Together

Donald Trump said he would end the war in Ukraine in just a few days. 100 days later, nothing has changed. Instead, it has become clearer than ever: we cannot and should not rely on a man who wants to see Europe fail.

We need to continue supporting Ukraine— militarily and politically. This also means closing our own capability gaps, and EU member states must stand behind Kaja Kallas’s plan for further support to Ukraine.

We should use these investments to strengthen Ukraine’s integration into the EU — starting with military cooperation. This is not just beneficial for Ukraine, it also strengthens our security. Programs like EDIP and SAFE must be utilized to deepen this win-win cooperation.

This week, the European Commission also presented a plan to make the EU completely independent from Russian energy supplies by 2027. This is a long-overdue step for the security of Europe and Ukraine — something we Greens have been demanding for a long time.

Europe has always been strong when we stood together. Sustainable security in Europe can only be achieved together—with Ukraine.
