Countless activists have been killed last year because of their work for human rights. Everywhere in the world, human rights defenders are being spied on, harassed, kidnapped, tortured – and even murdered. This is a situation that should not be considered as normal.
Therefore we have to:
- move up the protection of human rights defenders on our list of political priorities
- and become better allies to our allies on the ground.
